It seems which Adam Lambert has worked in veteran drama for most years, I’m not certain if he got paid for it or not, though does it mangle a manners of American Idol? Is it astray to alternative contestants?

Well another contestant had singing lessons and was in theater since she was 4. Some people just have more resources than others, and hey, life is unfair.
Probably doesn’t break the rules, but it does seem unfair. He’s worked in theater, but I wouldn’t call him a professional. And I wouldn’t vote for him.
When it comes to being talented it does not matter how much experience you have, you are either good or you are not!
I know what you mean, but my main objection to him is that he is just too effeminate. The last time he sang, it could have been a girl singing.
It obviously doesn’t break the rules of American Idol, otherwise, they would disqualify contestants like Adam. However, it’s a little unfair to the other contestants, since singers like Adam already have a lot of experience. But there are lots of other contestants that are on the show or have been who already have a lot of experience. Look at David Cook…he already had a cd out before Idol, however, he didn’t get famous off of it. So in a way, Idol helps not only amateurs get famous, but also people who have been doing music for awhile who haven’t made it big yet.
You either have it or you don’t.
Adam brings it pretty much every week.
If the show thought he had too much experience, they wouldn’t have put him through.

This lambert guy is a great singer, but that said, he is also a PROFESSIONAL SINGER!
He took private voice lessons and appeared in musicals – “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Grease,” “Chess” – at the Starlight, the Lyceum and other local venues. He has over 15 years experience and training in professional musical theatre,being cast in a six-month European tour of the ”Musical Hair ”. He has made appearances in The Zodiac Show at The Henry Fonda Music Box, and Club Makeup at the Key Club. He has even performed for audiences at the Burning Man art festival the past two years. His breakout theatre role was opposite Val Kilmer in Moses. He was cast as Joshua in The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre in 2004. After ‘The Ten Commandments,’ Adam was cast to understudy in the 1st National Broadway Tour of Wicked. While on tour for six months , he also collaborated with Composer/Guitarist Monte Pittman (Madonna, Prong). They have written over 20 songs as the alt/pop/rock band THE CITIZEN VEIN. Right before American Idol, Adam was appearing at the Pantages Theatre in the LA Company of Wicked. People who appear on American Idol NEED it to land a record deal, This guy does not!
Hey, Idol producers, I have an idea, next season, why not get Christina Aguilera to compete with the regular batch of amateurs?
Yes it is unfair but no its not illegal (However it should be). I don’t even like Adam Lambert so they day he gets kicked off will be the day I have a party in is honor (going away of course).
It doesn’t break the rules on American Idol. Unfair-I don’t think so, but that’s my opinion. Being in professional theater gives him more experience with stage presence and performing. A competition is a competition. Everyone is going to do their best, no matter what experience they have or where they come from. If people like him and his performances, then that’s what matters. Adam has never actually recorded an album yet. Every musician/artist has to come from somewhere. Mandisa was a backup singer. Allison won a recording contract in another reality show. Doing great on American Idol doesn’t guarantee future success. I think that matters more. For right now, it’s AI. After that, it is what it is.There is not set formula. Either people wanna buy their music and watch them on tv or they don’t. No matter what experience they have had before AI. Isn’t that kind of the point of the public vote? So that they will have a marketable artist with a fanbase? Experience doesn’t gurantee that. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they get it wrong. Adam may have the advantage, but we don’t know how is going to do post AI. Thats how I see. He was never a signed artist, so whatever. May the best win. If either an ametuer or professional wins and isn’t successful post AI, I don’t see the point.
It doesn’t matter how much experience he has had. You can’t buy talent, and he defininetly has it.
