Kevin Max was most definitely blessed by the LORD with this voice!!
I am not a huge fan of Kevin, but I love this song. I loved D.c Talk and I love Toby. I also love Skillet as my user says. This song reminds us of ourselves. We…or at least I know I have questioned my existence and I know Ive been pulled down by satan. That’s what this is about. It’s about a lost girl who is trying to find her way when she is lost. Trying to find why she is here. And when he says “your my existence” he is talking about God. That is how I see it atleast.
haha, I just mean that Kevin looks a little creepy in this music video. Kinda like a vampire looks. And his teeth…. maybe pointed???
Why is he a vampire? Cause of what he wears? I love this song, I don’t really follow Kevin once he left d.c talk but this is the one song I do like of his. What he wears shouldn’t change how you feel about a song. I love Toby Mac, in fact, I just went to his concert on the 21 ^_^
okay. he used to be soooo hot until he got sooo fat
this song still gives me goosebumps…I think it’s flawless, one of your best….
Listening to this guy makes me sad…grew up on DC Talk (the greatest christian rock band of all time) and all of us fans were just left like ummm….? sad sad…i dnt think they will ever play together again….doesnt make sense…so much talent
this music video changes this song for me. i didnt know Kevin Max was a vampire….
BRING BACK DC TALK!!
this is a great song, i love his voice
In any case, to close off this discussion here, I’d end by saying that this particular song is one of my favorites – lyrics, music, all of it – and I most certainly do see Christ in it, not to mention the gift for music Kevin Max has.
If you find Kevin Max’s work objectionable to your faith, then by all means, avoid it! It’s your right. I’d be happy to keep discussing this in private messages if you’d like; the character count here is murder.
God bless ya.
Hey, I’m not trying to argue with you; I’m just trying to understand your position and logic. I’m sorry, but you’re not making that very easy. You keep going back to Kevin – really, I’m not even talking about him specifically here. Again, I refer back to the “parables” analogy in Luke, which you didn’t respond to. It takes a Christian “trained ear” to appreciate Kevin Max’s poetry; when you come at it from that perspective, as I do, I think the message of Christ is very much alive in his poetry.
in one of his interviews he said he would like to play not only christian music but my thing is what made u a star was christian music were u really doing it for fame money or for christ. not condeming but in everything give god the praise i mean the man only died for u and went to hell for3 and3 nights kevin needs to get back on track and show peopole the light instead of hiding the light in dark poetry thats why not too many peopole listen to him
Quite honestly I’m having a hard time deciphering what you’re trying to say… From what I could guess, it seems you’re saying that if God/Christ is not literally, explicitly, specifically mentioned, then it’s not acceptable as “Christian.” I would tend to disagree; even Jesus taught in parables – try Luke 8:10 and maybe you’ll catch my “hidden meaning.” But at any level you’re entitled to your opinion, just as I’m entitled not to share it, and it is an interesting topic.
for example u put in this song wheres christ put in dc talk easy comparison upgrade all u want just keep christ present many peopole dont listen to him no more because u want to as a christian sing songs to ur self to stay spiratual minded but can u sing this? KEVIN get back on the level where u use to be
Kevin is, by far, the most UNDERRATED DC Talk member. Wish his stuff received more radioplay………….as much as I like Toby Mac and Tait, I actually like Kevin’s voice better!
this guy has a really interesting and very fast vibrato. He’s good though- very unique
Not Dc Talk. They are one of a kind. That’s what I think.
This video is GREAT! I love the Middle Eastern influences and the emotion behind it! This is real spiritual warfare here, not the fluffy, bright colored Christian-esque-appearing foof. Kevin gives it to you like it is. Sometimes it’s hard and sometimes it’s dark, but it’s REAL.
im guessing that she put her necklace before God, which made her blind. and when she put the necklace on the stair, it turned into a snake, meaning Satan.
that’s just my opinion.
Granted, I as a Christian do have some trouble fully accepting the more “hard-core” Christian rappers and hard rockers, I try to acknowledge that it’s not the musical style itself, but the message. I may not be a fan, but what you say and how you say it are both important – and different – things.
So I ask you: by your standards, what, then, is bona fide “Christian territory,” or the proper “Christian Genre?” Should we all musically regress to Gregorian Chants?
Just a thought…
A preamble: I’m no fan of “true rap” – I just don’t like the style, but in any case -
What, exactly, makes one particular *style of music* “Satan territory,” and another “Christian?” Would you say Kutless is Satanic by your standards, because they are a rock group? What about dcTalk, Switchfoot, the Newsboys, Building 429, Casting Crowns, or MercyMe? After all, they’ve embraced some elements of modern music too – rock, pop, rap – albeit at a softer level.
why christian singers always trying to go mainstream to reach others, makes no sense. RAPPERS dont put out christian music they stick to what they do ,but not us christians we have to not only satisfy GOD but the world! Ifind that u find what ur looking for if somebody is looking for christ they will find it why do us christian have to go on satan territory to to win a soul not wise
dctalk — best trio in Christian music history… on so many levels.
dctalk > nething secular.
his eyes & voice = trance o.o o_o o.o
…believe he is ‘keeping it real’ and his success in the mainstream is limited. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, on the contrary. I’m guessing his concern is reaching those he can with his ministry and he’s not so pre-occupied with being a star…I’m sure he would have done things differently if he was only about fame and mass appeal.
